10 Burnett
Burnett County (pop. 17,000), follows the St. Croix River along the northern border between Wisconsin and Minnesota. Statewide elections during the 2000s were often closely contested in this county, but since 2010 Republicans have opened a large lead in the county. Demographically, the county is older, more white, and more rural than Wisconsin overall.

Burnett County only contains three incorporated municipalities–the villages of Webster, Siren, and Grantsburg. Most of the population lives in the more rural towns. The most Democratic-leaning areas of the county are near the lands belonging to the St. Croix Chippewa Tribe, including the towns of Swiss, Sand Lake, and La Follette.
