12 Chippewa
Chippewa County (pop. 66,000) is located to the north of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. In fact, a small sliver of the City of Eau Claire extends into Chippewa County. Politically, the county leans Republican. Its income, age, poverty rate, and population density are typical for the state, while its racial makeup is more white and relatively few residents have graduated from college.

The municipalities in Chippewa County vary politically. Generally, the larger communities near Eau Claire are more Democratic, while the more rural towns lean more Republican. The former include the city of Chippewa Falls, the Town of Hallie, the villages of Lake Haille and Cadott. The latter include the towns of Colburn, Estella, and Cooks Valley.
